ETHS appoints new Principal and HR chief, promoting from within

Evanston Township High School District 202 on Tuesday morning announced the appointment of Taya Kinzie as Assistant Superintendent and Principal, and Scott Bramley as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

Kinzie and Bramley will officially transition to their new roles July 1, 2022, the same day that current Assistant Superintendent and Principal Marcus Campbell will formally become the new ETHS superintendent.

Kinzie, who has served as the Associate Principal for Student Services since 2015, will succeed Campbell in the Assistant Superintendent and Principal position, which Campbell has held since 2013. She has worked at ETHS since 2004, when she initially joined the Special Education Department as a social worker. She also later became a Dean of Students before taking on the Associate Principal position in 2015.

“Dr. Kinzie has led the student services department and ETHS school and larger communities through a myriad of challenges and changes throughout the years,” Campbell said in a Tuesday morning news release. “Dr. Kinzie’s empathetic and compassionate leadership has already made a tremendous impact on our community, and we are excited and fortunate to have her continued leadership and care for our community in the new role of Assistant Superintendent and Principal.”

Bramley first held the position of Department Chair for English and Reading when he arrived at ETHS in 2012. After two years in that role, he joined the administrative team as the Associate Principal for Instruction and Literacy, which is still his position today. This school year, he also added the role of interim Chief Human Resource Officer to his duties after ETHS placed longtime Chief Human Resource Officer Toya Campbell and Assistant Director of Human Resources Yolanda Hardy on administrative leave in October.

The District 202 School Board approved separation agreements with Campbell and Hardy in February, paving the way for Bramley to take over the Human Resources Department beginning this summer.

“Dr. Bramley is a systems thinker and problem solver who leads with humility. He is consistently looking for ways to improve processes and support ETHS students and staff,” Marcus Campbell said in the news release. “We are thrilled to have him move into the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources role.”
