Govt Plan To Create Question Bank For Entrance Exams | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: The higher education department is planning to create a question bank for smooth conduct of examinations in colleges and universities.
The move is expected to help authorities conducting examinations like common PG entrance test (CPET) to get questions easily without waiting for several days.
A proposal in this regard has been approved. The Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC) will implement the project. A website will be developed for this purpose. Controllers of examinations (CoEs) will get access to this website for collecting questions from the bank.
“Question bank is an approved activity of the OSHEC. The council is on the job. This question bank will help officials and evaluators of examinations and higher educational institutions,” said Asoka Kumar Das, vice-chairman, OSHEC.
Sources said model answers to the questions will be available in the archive of website. It will help the evaluators to award proper marks against the answers written by the examinees and reduce confusion.
According to the plan, a link will be sent to the teachers from the colleges and universities to set questions for their respective subjects. They will be a given time window and instructions to set the questions. After this process, the questions saved by the teachers will be diverted to reviewers for review.
If the questions are correct and valid, the reviewer will approve it. Following approval, these questions will be uploaded to the archive bank. A reviewer can even reject or edit a question set by the teachers, said an official of the higher education department.
He said the government is planning to create a question bank for 10 popular subjects initially. The number of subjects will be increased gradually. Now it is in the initial stage of development, he added.
Besides CPET like exams, universities and colleges can get questions from the website’s archive for their internal and semester examinations.
